At 2, Western Maverick won his first start by 2 lengths in 1:59.3h only to return the following week and wire the field in the Meadows' Arnden Stake pacing a mile in 1:54.3f - last quarter in :27.4! He went wire to wire to win the Bluegrass at Lexington by 2 in 1:52 - last quarter in :27, and set a world record winning the Abe Lincoln Pace by 4 lengths in 1:53h at Maywood Park where he still holds the track record!
In his sophomore year he finished second by a head in the Cleveland Classic, pacing his own mile in the race time of 1:53.2, and second in the PASS at the Meadowlands. He stands 4-4-2 in 13 starts lifetime competing against: Allamerican Ingot, Mach Three, Three Olives, Red River Hanover, Camystic, Pacific Titan, Brads Gold, etc.
