Pegasus Spur’s siring ability does not come as a surprise given his illustrious racing career. As a two-year-old he won 9 races and $339,857 with victories in the Matron Stake, two legs and the final of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes, Keystone Classic, Arden Downs Stake, the Reynolds Memorial and he was third in the Breeders Crown.

Pegasus Spur’s sophomore season was even better, highlighted by wins in the American-National, Canadian Trotting Classic consolation, and two Pennsylvania Sire Stakes. Other outstanding efforts that season included a second place finish in the $1 Million Hambletonian to Scarlet Knight and a brilliant performance in the Breeders Crown Final at Woodbine to be second by only a nose at the wire. As a four-year-old he won the Dygert Memorial concluding his career with winnings of just over $1.3 million.

A son of the prolific S Js Photo, Pegasus Spur is from the Speedy Crown mare Keystone Imperial 3,1:56.4 ($23,042), dam of 3 in 2:00 and a daughter of the much admired Ima Lula 4,1:57.1 ($638,921).
